Privacy Policy

Mikael Davis Academy ("we," "us," "the Academy") operates the mikaeldavis.com website and mobile application (the "App"). This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how you can delete it.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you register, we collect your full name, email address, and a password (stored as a hashed credential by our platform provider, never in plain text). If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account name and email. Your account is assigned a role (admin or user) that controls what you can access.
Course and learning data
As you use the App, we record your lesson completion progress, assessment scores and answers, homework assignments and your submitted work, and AI tutor conversations with Zay, our Digital Assistant.
Purchase and billing data
When you buy a course or subscription, we record the checkout session, order identifier, product name, amount, currency, subscription identifier, and any voucher code applied. Payment card details are handled entirely by our payment processor — we never see or store your card number.
Consultation booking data
If you request a consultation, we collect your name, email, optional phone number, preferred date and time, and your intake responses (role, current stage, primary goal, and timeline).
Referral data
If you submit a peer referral, we collect your name and email, your peer's name and optional email, your relationship, and any note you provide.
Technical and usage data
We collect standard server logs (IP address, request timestamps) and, when you complete key actions, conversion events sent to our advertising platform (purchase, checkout, sign-up, contact form, and appointment booking). We do not use third-party advertising cookies for behavioral profiling.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate your sessions.
- To grant and manage course access based on your purchases or redeemed vouchers.
- To track your lesson progress, grade assessments, and generate personalized study plans when you score below a target threshold.
- To power Zay, the Digital Assistant, which uses an AI language model to answer your course questions and provide study guidance.
- To assign and review homework submissions and provide feedback.
- To schedule and confirm consultations and send reminder emails.
- To process and verify peer referrals and send referral rewards.
- To send transactional emails (welcome messages, study plans, deletion codes, consultation reminders).
- To measure the effectiveness of our advertising by recording conversion events.
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and spam on our public forms via rate limiting and honeypot protections.
3. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the following service providers, each under their own privacy policy:
Base44 (platform provider)
Hosts the App's backend, database, authentication, and file storage. All entity data (account, course progress, assessments, homework, purchases, bookings, referrals) is stored on Base44's infrastructure.
Wix Payments ("Base44 Payments")
Processes checkout and subscription payments. Receives your billing details and payment instrument at checkout. We receive back the order and subscription identifiers and payment status — never your card number.
Used for (a) Google Sign-In, receiving your name and email; (b) Google Ads conversion tracking (AW-18459091489), receiving anonymous conversion events when you complete a purchase, checkout, sign-up, contact form, or booking — no behavioral profiling cookies; and (c) Google Workspace APIs (Gmail and Google Calendar) used by our admin team to send internal notification emails and schedule consultation calendar events.
AI language model providers (via Base44 Core)
Powers Zay the Digital Assistant, personalized study plan generation, and homework grading feedback. Your course questions and lesson context are sent to the model provider to generate responses. We do not use your data to train external models.
Email delivery (via Base44 Core SendEmail)
Delivers transactional emails to your address — welcome messages, study plans, deletion verification codes, and consultation reminders.
4. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel a subscription, your course entitlements remain until the paid period ends, then access is revoked; your progress data is retained so you can resume if you re-subscribe.
Payment records are retained for as long as required for accounting, tax, and dispute-resolution purposes.
Account deletion verification codes are temporary — they expire 10 minutes after issuance and are cleared after use.
Some data may be retained by our third-party providers (for example, Wix Payments' transaction records) according to their own retention policies and legal obligations; we cannot delete data held by those providers.
5. Data Deletion and Your Rights
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Student Dashboard. The deletion process works as follows:
- Open the Delete Account panel on your Student Dashboard and tap Delete My Account.
- We email a 6-digit verification code to your registered address (valid for 10 minutes).
- Enter the code and type DELETE to confirm.
- We permanently erase your lesson progress, homework submissions, assessment results, course entitlements, purchase records, and any entitlements linked to your email address.
- Your user account is then deleted and you are signed out.
This action is irreversible. To revoke consent for specific processing (for example, marketing emails), or to request a copy of your data, email support@mikaeldavis.com and we will respond within 30 days.
6. Security
Passwords are stored as hashed credentials by our platform provider. All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS. Public forms (consultation booking, referrals, voucher validation) are protected with honeypot fields and rate limiting to prevent automated abuse. Access to administrative data is restricted to users with the admin role. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we follow industry-standard practices to protect your information.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is designed for students pursuing college access, scholarships, and graduate-school preparation, including those under 18. For users under 18, a parent or guardian should register and provide consent. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has registered, contact support@mikaeldavis.com and we will delete the account.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the App evolves. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or an in-app notice.
